I started the search for items back in March. I like to purchase each item individually from the shop to get a feel for the packaging, customer service, and also to test out the product to see if it’s the right fit for the theme and box.

The first item I purchased was the “Be Cool” Aloe Spray by Green Envy Cosmetics. I wanted to make sure that I had this item with me on our Spring Break. We were headed to Flordia and I had a hunch we may burn when staying near the ocean. No matter how much sunscreen we put on we still got burnt! Ouch. I was able to pull out the “Be Cool” Aloe Spray from the fridge and spray on all the parts that burned. Ahhhh! Relief! ย I really loved the smell and that it was all natural. I normally would use the neon gloppy green gel but we have been intentional about using no chemicals in our products and food. What I love about Green Envy Cosmetics Aloe is that it’s in a spray. When you are hurting from a sunburn you want minimal touching and this was perfect!

I always test the products on myself first then my children. I wanted everyone to see how it worked so we got this short clip of us in action applying the aloe spray!

Next, I purchased a box from The Idea Box Kidsย shop. I originally purchased one of their other boxes as they have so many fun ones to purchase. I loved that each box has wooden coins and such a memorable keepsake. When I saw the “Summertime Activities” box I knew it was the perfect fit for the Summer Lovin’ box. I like to have one big item every month that is the major gift. This was the perfect item to link the theme and research based play included in the booklet. Here is a short clip of this keepsake gift:

Next, I found these adorable Mermaid Tail Popsicle holders from K.Rose Design Co. I love that she can personalize each holder. These were so fun and fit with the summer theme!

The next item was the sunscreen stick from Bad Axe Soap Co. I originally had picked out an item from them that will be in the July box. I was testing it out and thought it went better with the Starry Night theme. I found out they also make sunscreen and thought this was perfect for the Summer theme. I play tennis so I tested it out on a 90 degree day and it protected beautifully. I actually love how smooth it goes on, the smell, and that it has anti-aging properties! I took it to the pool for this short video clip of the product:

We also added a packet of Wildflower seeds from Mavora. She creates these for weddings but I thought these went well with the Summertime theme. Her designs are beautiful and she has other kinds of seed packets such as Lavender and Mint!

For a fun little treat I added the jelly bean packet that said, “OPEN IN CASE OF TANTRUM”. I wanted to remind parents that you have to laugh even when things get hard. ย This is a fun reminder and either the parent can enjoy or you can give to your child (as a bribe)!

We are loving the beautiful photos of the June Box! Thank you for posting @thebidinger3 ๐Ÿ’• Repost from @thebidinger3 – So, excited to have our first @growingrootsbox dropped off at our door this morning. This box encompasses so many things I love. First and foremost it's a local company (Go! Michigan Small Businesses!) then it arrives via snail mail. So when it shows up at the door it feels like Christmas and totally brightens my day. And this one is geared towards mommas ๐Ÿ™‹and their kiddos, so not only is it a treat for me it's a treat for them too. Their June box had a summer theme and let me tell ya, nail on the head! We're headed up north this weekend and all of it will be coming along, except maybe the flower seeds because I have some flower beds that could use them. Starting at the top left and going down: โœ”Green Envy Cosmetics "Be Cool" Aloe Spray. It has mint in it to help lower skin temperature, lavender and aloe to soothe. โœ”Bad Axe Soap Company Natural Sunscreen. It's a mini balm that fits perfectly into a diaper bag or purse. It's all natural so you can feel good about putting it on your little and it smells amazing with the scent of lavender. Not your typical scent for a sunscreen! โœ”A sweet little packet of wildflowersโœ”K. Rose Design Co Popsicle holder. It's a mermaid tail. It's keeps little hands from freezing. It's genius.โœ”The Idea Box Kids Summertime Activities. One little box, 60 different activities inside. This is never leaving my diaper bag.

Lastly, I create a booklet, every month, that includes details about the products, a research based adventure, next month’s theme is revealed, information on the book donation and a recipe or other useful feature for families to try. (The June cover is a photo of my son at the splash park)

I hope you enjoyed the June Box as much as I had fun curating the package. These are now in the shop to purchase as a gift or to try out as a one time box purchase :ย JUNE BOX
